But I will sing of Your strength, in the morning I will sing of Your love; for You are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble (Psalm 59:16, NIV)
In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you
and wait expectantly. Psalm 5:3 New International Version (NIV)
Health instructors will tell you the most important meal of the day is breakfast. They also teach that you want a healthy meal to start your day with.It is the fuel that carries your body through the day. An unhealthy meal or skipping breakfast effects your body in negative ways. Just as your body needs a good meal to start your day with so does your spirit. Jesus said that man does not live by bread alone but by every word of God. Waking up and saying a prayer connects you to Him at the beginning of the day. I am not saying that He is not always there, but He is a gentleman waiting to be invited into your day and wanting to want to spend your time with Him.It is like a married couple in the early years of their marriage, they are happy when they wake up to see the one they have chosen to spend the rest of their life with and as they watch their spouse wake up they say good morning with a smile. As years pass and the newness of the relation wears off they can get to the routine that they just get up and go about their day. This does not mean that they are no longer in love but that life and their responsibilities have come to be the focus of their attention. They have become more like roommates coexisting. You would say the flame has burnt out and romance has left the building. We sometimes get to this place in our relationship with Jesus. We know God is there, but we neglect to give the relationship the care it needs to thrive and live not merely exist. By starting your day off in prayer and His Word, you renew your mind and your heart. It is the best way to start your day, because no matter what your day may have in store for you, He is with you and will be with you through out your entire day. He will hold your hand and shield you and provide for your every need. So don’t wait till the end of the day and treat Him like a wife who prepares your dinner only to have you come home late letting the dinner get cold. Treat Him with the love He deserves to receive and start off with a good Morning God, glad you are in my life and that we have a whole day to spend together.
