What Is Love?

Valentine’s Day has rep for being shallow,a sales gimmick for the greeting card and candy companies. And it can be that–if we let it. On the other hand, it can be a day for celebrating something bigger and more important than mere infatuation–if we let it. After all, it’s something we innately sense is bigger than us, that existed before us, and may even be the reason there is an us. The movie Interstellar intriguingly implies that love is the ultimate unified field, the force that holds the entire universe together. But then we’ve known that all along, haven’t we?
