Ezekiel 18:30-32 Therefore, O house of Israel, I will judge you, each according to his ways, declares the Lord GOD. Repent and turn from all your transgressions, so that your iniquity will not become your downfall. 31Cast away from yourselves all the transgressions you have committed, and fashion for yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. Why should you die, O house of Israel? 32For I take no pleasure in anyone’s death, declares the Lord GOD. So repent and live!… 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise as some understand slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance. 1 Corinthian 13:4 Love is patient, love is kind, love is not envious, it is not boastful, it is not puffed up. Nehemiah 9:17 And refused to obey, neither were mindful of thy wonders that thou didst among them; but hardened their necks, and in their rebellion appointed a captain to return to their bondage: but thou art a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and forsookest them not. Ephesians 4:32 Be kind and tenderhearted to one another, forgiving each other just as in Christ God forgave you.
The patience of God proves His love. If He had not loved us first, we would not have the opportunity to repent and be saved. We need to turn from ourselves and the world towards Him. He is waiting for you with open arms.
1 John 4:19 We love because He first loved us.(ESV)
We are only capable of love because God loved us first. Without God there is no love. Desire, affection, and passion are often used to describe love, but when you read 1 Corinthians 13 these words are not found in what God says love is. Those are only feelings, and they change with the wind and the waves. They are not stable, and you cannot build on them. They can make you feel good, but then they fade and can turn into pain. Pain turns into resentment, bitterness and hate, which then turn into actions that hurt others and the damage continues.
So then how can we love, if our knowledge of love is from the world and not God? My answer is that we can’t. Just because we call something love, does not make it love. we have all heard of knock off designs. They look like the original but they cost less. Just because someone put a label on it saying it was an original but they got you a deal so it cost less. Ye it is nothing more than an imitation of the real thing. Yet you got a deal right? It barely cost you half of the cost of the real thing, but you have a poor quality imitation of the real thing. God’s love number one is real, and number two it cost Him everything. Yet there are a lot of imposters in the world all around us. They say and do things in the name of God but they do not have His love, and these are the ones Jesus tells them to go/depart(Matthew 7:23/Luke13:27) His love when it gets deep down in you like a seed planted in good soil. It grows and produces His fruit. You can see the changes in a person who has the Love of God in them. Love changes a person. It may look like the change starts on the outward appearance, but it is on the inside where the real change begins.
Will you allow God today to plant His love in you?
Will you allow His love to grow in you? Will you allow His love to change you?
8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. 9 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
This scripture confirms what I have bee receiving, regarding love and God. We cannot have one with out the other. To know love I need to know God. Not the knowledge the world has of a subject of love, but as an intimate knowledge. A relationship. God already knows who you and I are, but in the intimate relationship the knowledge of each other goes both ways. The way a husband and wife we become one, we become one with God. The old man is no longer, and we have become a new creation once we choose to receive His Son, His Love, His forgiveness and all that He is. To receive the new hear He has for us it we have to go to Him and enter into a relationship with Him. Think about how every February people give Valentines to each other. To their romantic partners, friends, schoolmates, etc… It is supposed to be symbolic of giving their hearts to each other. God wants more than a card representing our heart. He wants more than our heart. He wants our entire life. He will not force His love on us, and He will not force us to love Him. This is a decision we have to make for ourselves. In a relationship we open ourselves up to another. We let them them in, and the further that we let them in, the bigger the risk we take. It leaves us vulnerable to being hurt and rejected. The great thing about entering into a relationship between you and God is this, He will never abandon you, reject you, or hurt you. This is the only risk free relationship you will ever have. No gamble here, there is nothing to loose but a life to gain.
1 John 4:8-10 The person who doesn’t love doesn’t know God, because God is love. God has shown us his love by sending his only Son into the world so that we could have life through him. This is love: not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the payment for our sins.
The Message)7-10 My beloved friends, let us continue to love each other since love comes from God. Everyone who loves is born of God and experiences a relationship with God. The person who refuses to love doesn’t know the first thing about God, because God is love—so you can’t know him if you don’t love. This is how God showed his love for us: God sent his only Son into the world so we might live through him. This is the kind of love we are talking about—not that we once upon a time loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to clear away our sins and the damage they’ve done to our relationship with God.
NKJV) 8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. 9 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
No matter which version of the Bible you may read the message of these verses is clear. God is love and without God there is no knowledge of God. Know God and you know love, No God and there is no love.
“Through Him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.” ~
With there being so much on the love of God, the work continues on this message. So here is my 3rd draft, love to hear your thoughts and if you have any corrections that I need to make.
Love and Hate
Which do you think is easier to do? People are hated because of the color of their skin, their religious beliefs, their financial status (rich, middle class or poor), where they live and a million other reasons. It is easy to see that it does not take much effort to hate. In today’s climate we see hate and violence all around us. Hatred leads to so much harm, and destroys peace. Hatred has been around since the fall of man when sin first entered this world(Genesis 3). It keeps us divided and fighting against each other than fighting against the true enemy.
Love thankfully has been around since the beginning. It was love that God created man, and it is His love that paid the price to redeem us from our sins giving us a new life(John 3:16). His love has never give up on any of us.
He could have started over, but time and time again He has given us the opportunity to turn back to Him, to repent, and to receive His love and forgiveness. He made the way, with His Son. Sending Jesus to this earth, both knowing what He would suffer. No wrong, no sin, He was the perfect Lamb of God, who was sacrificed to pay the price of our sins to redeem us from death and give us eternal life. This love cost God everything. He held nothing back but gave us the most valuable gift of all, His Son, Jesus. For the love of God covers a multitude of sins.
It is said that faith without works is dead. The same can be said of love. Love without effort/work dies or it was never love to begin with. It like a white washed tomb, it may look good on the outside but is dead on the inside.
How far would you go, and what would you not do for someone you love? There is a song titled, ‘There ain’t no mountain high enough’ that can express how nothing can keep God’s love from reaching us.
Nothing keeps Him from loving us. Even though we break His heart over and over. He has kept loving us, patiently waiting for us to turn to Him and love Him back. He is the One we can trust to love us and lean on Him no matter what is going on in lour life. So how do we start doing this? Just turn to Him and fall into His loving arms. Let His love transform you. Let Him give you a new heart that He has molded just for you.
James 2:16-18 16If one of you tells him, “Go in peace; stay warm and well fed,” but does not provide for his physical needs, what good is that? 17 So too, faith by itself, if it does not result in action is dead.18But someone will say, “You have faith and I have deeds.” Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds.…
Romans 8:37-39 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither life nor death neither angels, nor principalities, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,39neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.…
