A Song And A message/ Ooh Child

While watching a T.V. Show, through out the episode this song kept playing in the background. It was soothing, and of course knowing the song it was easy to sing along with. Letting the words fill my thoughts, once again I could hear this song as if my Heavenly Father was singing to encourage me, and I did need the encouragement with the waiting process of my disability case. Back to the song. Its’ soothing music and encouraging words, it continues to play on in my mind.

Life in general is not easy. Yes there are some whom seem to have been born with a silver spoon, but even they have their problems, we just don’t see them. Not everyone is abused but many are. Scripture tells us to count it all joy when we face various trials and tribulations. Jesus told us the world was going to hate us, not because of who we are but WHO is in us. With the chaos and hatred being world wide, I thought we could all use some encouragement that one day things will be better. His Light will drive away the darkness, there will be no more pain, suffering, or tears. We won’t get sick or die. How can this be? We will be in HIS kingdom, where none of these things exist. Some day things will be brighter!

James 1:2 Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds,

Matthew 10:22 You will be hated by all because of My name, but it is the one who has endured to the end who will be saved.

Matthew 24:9 “Then they will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name.

John 15:18-20 “If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. 19 If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. 20 Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also.

In Your Eyes / A song and a message

In His eyes is the love we will not find on this earth. In this song I can sing to God that in His eyes I am complete and I am loved.

In Your Eyes/Peter Gabriel Featuring Youssou N’Dour / Producers Bill Laswell, Daniel Lanois
Sep. 2, 1986

In Your Eyes Lyrics
[Verse 1: Peter Gabriel]
Love, I get so lost sometimes
Days pass and this emptiness
Fills my heart
When I want to run away
I drive off in my car
But whichever way I go
I come back to the place you are

(Without His love we are empty without direction but when we return to Him He is always there.)

[Pre-Chorus: Peter Gabriel]
All my instincts, they return
The grand façade, so soon will burn
Without a noise, without my pride
I reach out from the inside

(When we humble ourselves and reach out to Him He will always be there.)

[Chorus: Peter Gabriel]
In your eyes, the light, the heat
(In your eyes) I am complete
(In your eyes) I see the doorway
(In your eyes) To a thousand churches
(In your eyes) The resolution
(In your eyes) Of all the fruitless searches
(In your eyes)
(In your eyes) Oh, I see the light and the heat
(In your eyes, the light, the heat)
(In your eyes) Oh, I wanna be that complete
(In your eyes, the light, the heat)
(In your eyes) I wanna touch the light
The heat I see in your eyes

(In Him we are made complete. He is the door to eternal life. He directs our paths. He is the Way, the Truth and the Light.)

[Verse 2: Peter Gabriel]
Love, I don’t like to see so much pain
So much wasted and this moment
Keeps slipping away
I get so tired working
So hard for our survival
I look to the time with you
To keep me awake and alive

[Pre-Chorus: Peter Gabriel]
And all my instincts they return
And the grand façade, so soon will burn
Without a noise, without my pride
I reach out from the inside

[Chorus: Peter Gabriel]
In your eyes (Your eyes)
(Your eyes) In your eyes
(In your eyes) The light, the heat
(Your eyes) I am complete
(In your eyes) I see the doorway
To a thousand churches
(In your eyes) The resolution
(Your eyes) Of all the fruitless searches
Oh, I see the light and the heat
(In your eyes)
(Your eyes) Oh, I wanna be that complete
(In your eyes)
I wanna touch the light
The heat I see in your eyes
In your eyes
(In your eyes)
(In your eyes) Ooh
[Outro: Youssou N’Dour]

More than words/repost

Loved this song when it came out.

This may be a secular love song but listening to the words I was inspired and was able to hear God telling me that He wants more than our words. We may talk the talk but are we walking the walk. Our works do not create faith but if we have faith and truly love God our actions prove this. If you speak a foreign language does that make you that language’s nationality? I took French in high school but that did not make me French, it just meant that I learned how to read and speak the language.

Thanks to Jesus we have been adopted into God’s family. His sacrifice redeemed us. He did more than say I love you and you are forgiven. He proved it by laying down His own life to pay the price for sins He was not guilty of. He walked this earth not to condemn us but to show us love.

How we live are lives says more about us and our relationship with Him, than the words that come out of our mouths. We say I love you, as easily as we say I love chocolate or pizza. We have watered down our relationship with worldly attitudes and do not even realize it. How we live each day matters, and what we value tells others where our hearts desires are. Scripture tells us that if we love the Lord that He will give us the desires of our heart, but what we do not read is that if you love the Lord the desires of your heart will change to what He desires us to have. Even Jesus when speaking to our Father said, “not will but Thine be done”. When you give you life to God, you are to submitt to His will, to do as He instructs. Our ways are not His, and His ways are not ours. Neither are our thoughts His. Frank Sinatra said he did it his way, but a life with Jesus means we give up our own way. We give Him more than lip service. We give Him our entire lives. We live, eat and breathe His Word. Every action speaks louder than even screaming at the top of our lungs. More than words should be how we live everyday for Him.

Matthew 5:16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

Luke 6:46 “Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I tell you?

Colassions 3:17 And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

1John 3:18 Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.

James 1:22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

James 2:17 So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

James 2:26 For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead.

James 3:13 Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom.

1 Peter 2:21 For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps.

Open Arms by Journey / A song and a message

This is one of my favorite songs when I was in junior high school. A love song that I can compare to the parable of the prodigal. A life that began with a relationship with Jesus, then we walked away. Returning later to realize that the love we were seeking was and has always been there with open arms ready to receive us.

Open Arms / Journey / Track 10 on Escape
Producers / Kevin Elson & Mike Stone / Jan. 1982

Open Arms Lyrics
[Verse 1]
Lying beside you
Here in the dark
Feeling your heartbeat with mine
Softly, you whisper
You’re so sincere
How could our love be so blind?

[Pre-Chorus]
We sailed on together
We drifted apart And here you are
By my side ( We are the ones who drifted away, and thankfully He remained with open arm to take us back. )

[Chorus]
So now, I come to you
With open arms
Nothing to hide
Believe what I say
So here I am
With open arms
Hoping you’ll see
What your love means to me
Open arms

[Verse 2]
Living without you
Living alone
This empty house seems so cold
Wanting to hold you
Wanting you near
How much I wanted you home (He has never stopped loving us. He wanted us so much HE gave His own life so that we could return to Him. His arms open as He hung on the cross.)

[Pre-Chorus]
But now that you’ve come back
(HE) Turned night into day
I need you to stay (He wants you to stay)

[Chorus]
So now I come to you
With open arms
Nothing to hide
Believe what I say
So here I am
With open arms
Hoping you’ll see
What your love means to me
Open arms

VH1 called “Open Arms” the greatest power ballad of all time, and it remains their biggest hit with a #2 peak in the US and Canada in March 1982.

This song was famously covered by Mariah Carey in 1995 for her album Daydream, and re-recorded by Journey with their new vocalist Arnel Pineda in 2008 for their double album Revelation.

Always on my mind Elvis / A song and a message

Here is another song that speaks to me about how much God loves us. We are always on His mind. I see myself singing the verses to God with a little word change here and there, and God singing the chorus in response. It is easier than you think to neglect our relationships, especially the one with our Heavenly Father. We get busy with our to do lists and little by little we have drifted away without realizing it. Picture yourself laying on a raft, and you are at one end of the pool or lake. You doze off without trying to and when you wake up you are on the other side. It is that easy. In this song the singer is saying that they always had their loved one on their mind, but did they? That is why when I see this song played out I am singing to God the verses and He is the One singing the chorus to me in return. Keep Him in your thoughts always and don’t let the winds in this life cause you to drift away without you realizing it.

Always On My Mind / Elvis Presley
Track 16 on The Great Performances
Producer / Felton Jarvis / Nov. 1972

Lyrics
[Verse 1]
Maybe I didn’t treat you
Quite as good as I should have
Maybe I didn’t love you
Quite as often as I could have

[Pre-Chorus]
Little things I should have said and done
I just never took the time

(Take time through out your day and reflect on HIS love.)

[Chorus]
You were always on my mind
(You were always on my mind)
You were always on my mind

[Verse 2]
Maybe I didn’t hold you
All those lonely, lonely times
And I guess I never told you
I’m so happy that you’re mine

(Hold on to Him all of the time.)

[Pre-Chorus]
If I made you feel second best
Girl (GOD), I’m so sorry I was blind

[Chorus]
You were always on my mind
(You were always on my mind)
You were always on my mind

[Bridge]
Tell me
Tell me that your sweet love hasn’t died
Give me
(Thank YOU for giving me another chance that I don’t deserve) Give me one more chance to keep you satisfied, satisfied

[Pre-Chorus]
Little things I should have said and done
I just never took the time

(Never forget to give HIM your time.)

[Chorus]
You were always on my mind
(You were always on my mind)
You were always on my mind
You were always on my mind

[Outro]
Maybe I didn’t treat you
Quite as good as I should have
Maybe I didn’t love you
Quite as often as I could have
Maybe I didn’t hold you
All those lonely, lonely times (I had I should have turned to YOU.)
And I guess I never told you
I’m so happy that you’re mine
Maybe I didn’t treat you
Quite as good as I should have

“For I know the thoughts I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11.

“Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them. How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them!” Psalm 139:16-17.

I’ll be there / a song and a message

Wow, two days in a row I woke up with a song playing in my mind. Today the song is by the Jackson 5, ‘I’ll be there’. If you can try to imagine God singing to you, in the first verse it is like He is saying that where there is love He is there. Call His Name and He is there with an outstretched arm. He has given us salvation through His Son Jesus, just call His name and He is there.

In the chorus He is there to comfort you and give you strength. He came to this world to find you. In the second verse we are being told He wants to fill us with His joy and laughter. He is there to protect you. He wants to be one with you, just call His Name, He is there.

2 Chronicles 7:14 ESV If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

Romans 10:13 ESV For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Acts 2:21 ESV And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.’

Have you called His name? He is there.

The Jackson 5 / Track 1 on Third Album / Producer Hal Davis/Sep. 8, 1970

I’ll Be There Lyrics
[Verse 1: Michael Jackson]
You and I must make a pact
We must bring salvation back
Where there is love, I’ll be there (I’ll be there)
I’ll reach out my hand to you
I’ll have faith in all you do
Just call my name and I’ll be there (I’ll be there)

[Chorus: Jermaine Jackson]
And oh, I’ll be there to comfort you
Build my world of dreams around you, I’m so glad that I found you
I’ll be there with a love that’s strong
I’ll be your strength, I’ll keep holding on
(Holdin’ on, holdin’ on, holdin’ on) Yes, I will, yes, I will

[Verse 2: Michael Jackson]
Let me fill your heart with joy and laughter
Togetherness, girl, is all I’m after
Whenever you need me, I’ll be there (I’ll be there)
I’ll be there to protect you (Yeah, baby)
With an unselfish love that respects you
Just call my name and I’ll be there (I’ll be there)

[Chorus: Jermaine Jackson]
And oh, I’ll be there to comfort you
Build my world of dreams around you, I’m so glad that I found you
I’ll be there with a love that’s strong
I’ll be your strength, I’ll keep holding on
Hoo-hoo (Holdin’ on, holdin’ on, holdin’ on) Yes, I will, yes, I will

[Verse 3: Michael Jackson]
If you should ever find someone new
I know he better be good to you
‘Cause if he doesn’t, I’ll be there (I’ll be there)

[Outro: Michael Jackson]
Don’t you know, baby, yeah, yeah
I’ll be there, I’ll be there
Just call my name (I’ll be there), I’ll be there
Just look over your shoulders, honey! Ooh
I’ll be there, I’ll be there
Whenever you need me (I’ll be there), I’ll be there
Don’t you know, baby, yeah, yeah
I’ll be there, I’ll be there
Just call my name (I’ll be there), I’ll be there
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
I’ll be there, I’ll be there
