Symbols of the Holy Spirit

NarrowPathMinistries

by Jack Hayford

And immediately, coming up from the water, He saw the heavens parting and the Spirit descending upon Him like a dove. (Mark 1:10)

The Holy Spirit doesn’t seek to be mysterious, but He is the most mysterious of the Godhead. We can read in the Word about the Father, and we can read about the Son who came and walked among us. But Jesus tells us that when the Spirit comes, He will not speak of Himself; that “whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come” (John 16:13 KJV).

The workings of the Holy Spirit are invisible, glorious, and gentle, and within them, He never tells us about Himself. He comes to glorify Jesus—helping us to see Jesus more, to understand Jesus better, to respond to Jesus more obediently, and to love Jesus with a deeper heart of commitment.

Fear Not!

Pure Glory

by Hazel Straub

When you obey God, he covers you with anointing and honors you. Do not cower at the giants that face you. Be strong and of good courage because Jesus won the victory for you! He intercedes for you, so you do not get discouraged.

God goes with you through your life journey and fights your battles, as you rely on and trust in him. Do quit and fear not!

Be strong, courageous, and firm; fear not nor be in terror before them, for it is the Lord your God Who goes with you; He will not fail you or forsake you. (Deuteronomy 31:8 AMPC)

Pest Control

emotionalpeace

I am grateful to live in an apartment that is well maintained. Every 3 months a pest control company comes and spray to keep the bugs away. I can tell when it is time for them to come because either myself or a neighbor will have a dead bug. (Thankfully it was dead, don’t want those pests around.) Today as I was sweeping and mopping getting ready for them to come tomorrow I thought about the spiritual pests that like to invade our homes. How many of us can say we keep our homes spiritually guarded from pests? Prayer, praise and worship music, and reading scripture aloud in my home is a daily routine. Yet there are days when I am prompted by my spirit to pray for God’s protection and cleansing of my home. I ask Him to place a hedge of protection around my home and cover it…

Witness Stones

NarrowPathMinistries

In Luke 19:40 Jesus said, “If we keep quiet (and don’t praise God), the stones will cry out.” Why would you and I remain silent, forfeiting to stones the joy of praising God for what He has done?

Samuel used stones as a memorial when God’s people wanted to remember His goodness and faithfulness. First Samuel 7:12 says that when God enabled the Israelites to defeat the Philistines, the Prophet Samuel “took a stone and … named it Ebenezer, saying, ‘Thus far has the Lord helped us.’”

Joshua also used stones to help God’s people remember His goodness. After wandering in the wilderness for 40 years, the Israelites experienced the power of God to roll back the waters of the Jordan River, enabling them to cross over and take possession of the Promised Land. Joshua then commanded them to build a memorial of stones as a public testimony of what…

Who is the Holy Spirit and 10 Supernatural Ways He Empowers You

Who is the Holy Spirit & 10 Supernatural Ways He Empowers You

“The Holy Spirit illuminates the minds of people, makes us yearn for God, and takes spiritual truth and makes it understandable to us.” –Billy Graham

The Holy Spirit is a beautiful and powerful part of who God is. We need Him in our life as a conduit to become who God created us to be, and through His power we have aid in all situations. Without Him, we are powerless.

Who is the Holy Spirit?

  • Our first encounter with the Holy Spirit is when He convicts us of our sin, shows us that none of us can live up to the righteousness of Jesus, and reveals to us the judgment that is coming to those who die without a Savior (John 16:8-11). As we repent, confess our sins and receive the gift of Salvation…

What do you say when you don’t know what to say

emotionalpeace

What do you say when you have no idea of what to say? There are those times when words even when spoken to bring comfort can cause more pain. Your words were kind and compassionate but they still hurt, not because of you, or because the person you are speaking to is too sensitive. It is just that what they are going through is so painful words are useless. Sometimes silence brings more comfort than words. Silent tears, and quiet hugs without a spoken word can at times bring more comfort than all the perfectly spoken words. Your presence can be all they need. Quietly handing them a tissue, or just a glass of water or even a sandwich without being asked can let them know you are there for them. Pray for them hold their hand, and just sit quietly by their side. If they speak just listen and…

Do You Listen? / June 18, 2019

(In this post I have included the original post, but as I read it again I heard God speak to me and tell me that it was unfinished. So The bold print is from the original.)
When your children do not listen to you and disobey you do you get upset? Of course you do. I do not know of any parents that does not care when their child does something wrong. As a parent you have rules you expect your children to follow those rules. There are the things you want them to do, and the things you do not want them to do. When they break your rules you discipline them. So why is it that when God tells us to do something or not do something we like to argue with Him, or we go ahead and do the thing He has told us not to do? He is our Heavenly Father, and we are His children. As we want our children to listen to us we need to listen to God our Father and not argue with Him and do what we know pleases Him. We are not to talk back or tell Him what to do. We do not tolerate this with our own children, so why is it that we think we can do this with God?

Growing up, talking back to any adult was not allowed, and you definitely did not talk back to my father, unless you wanted a beating. Yet are there times when we do this with God, our Heavenly Father? Do we make demands and tell Him what to do? I think we have become spoiled children at times. We have used prayer as a one-way street, with a list of demands and wants. A combination of a shopping list and a to do list.

When Jesus was asked by His disciples how to pray, He had included, ‘Thy will be done’ in His example of how to pray, and what we today call the ‘Lord’s prayer’ (Matthew 3:9-13). Later while praying in Gethsemane, He again said in prayer, ‘Not my will but Thine be done’. In both instances, Jesus the Son of God does not make demands but prayed for the will of God to be done.

It is not our own will that we should be seeking but His. How can we know His will? Let us not only hear what He tells us, but listen. Remember that prayer is communicating with God. He is not your personal genie granting you what ever you wish, He is our Heavenly Father. He wants to hear from you, but He also wants for you to listen to what He has to say. He is not your ATM machine where you put your membership card in so you can take something out. Stop for a moment and give Him your time and attention. Listen to His voice.

1 John 5:14 This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
John 10:27-28 ESV My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.
Mark 4:24 ESV And he said to them, “Pay attention to what you hear: with the measure you use, it will be measured to you, and still more will be added to you.

Proverbs 1:8-9 ESV Hear, my son, your father’s instruction, and forsake not your mother’s teaching, (9) for they are a graceful garland for your head and pendants for your neck.

Proverbs 7:1-3 ESV My son, keep my words and treasure up my commandments with you; (2) keep my commandments and live; keep my teaching as the apple of your eye; (3) bind them on your fingers; write them on the tablet of your heart.

Ten Reasons Why You Can Trust The Hands Of God

Becoming the Oil and the Wine

1. The Lord will deliver you from the enemies with a mighty hand.

And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the Lord thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the Lord thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day. (Deuteronomy 5:15)

2. The Lord’s hand will do great works in your life.

And when He was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen;

Saying, blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest. (Luke 19:37-38

3. You will receive double from the Lord’s hands because of your…

Wipe Your Feet!

emotionalpeace

The Welcome mat outside your home is for more than decoration. It has a purpose, you are to use it to wipe the dirt off of the bottom of your shoes off so you do not track the dirt into the home.

My mother was Japanese and before you entered her home you took off your shoes before you entered her home. In biblical times there were servants who greeted guests and washed their feet. Jesus washed the feet of His disciples.

John 13:1-17 (NKJV)

Jesus Washes the Disciples’ Feet

13 Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that His hour had come that He should depart from this world to the Father, having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end.

And supper being ended,[a] the devil having already put it into the heart of Judas…
